Concern has been voiced that U.S. supportedmilitary operations against narco-trafficking/guerilla groups in Colombia could accelerateguerilla encroachment into Ecuador. Increased presence of Colombian drug traffickersand narco-linked insurgents could limit the effectiveness of U.S. anti-drug support toColombia and threaten the territorial integrity and stability of Ecuador.
