Under the Consolidated AppropriationsResolution for FY2003 (P.L.108-007), the Community Oriented Policing Services(COPS) program is operating for another year with funding appropriated at $928.9million for FY2003. The budget request for FY2004 is $163.7 million. The budgetproposal includes a realignment of almost half of the programs administered underCOPS to the Justice Assistance, Improving the Criminal Justice System under the Officeof Justice Programs in DOJ.
