Several bills were introduced in 2003 relating to emergencywarnings: (S. 118, Senator Edwards); H.R. 2537 (Representative Maloney); (H.R. 2250,Representative Meek); and S. 564 (Senator Landrieu). Recent, major studies of warning systems have concluded that the United Statesneeds a more robust emergency alert system.
