The 9/11 Commission has recommended that Congress create a “permanentstanding committee” in each chamber to serve as a “single, principal point of oversightand review for homeland security.”This report poses a series of questions that the House might want to consider as itdebates the effect on the House generally, and on the Members specifically, ofreconstituting the Select Committee as a standing committee.
