This report sketches the evolution of that initiative and suggests whereadditional information about it might be found. It will not be updated unless there aresignificant new administrative or legislative actions in this area.The Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (29 U.S.C. 201-219), as amended, is theprimary federal law governing minimum wages, overtime pay, and closely related laborstandards.
