It establishes the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance program,under which veterans and servicemembers who have served on active duty in the armedforces on or after September 11, 2001, may receive assistance towards the cost of tuitionand fees, a monthly housing allowance, and a stipend for books and supplies. The Actgrants authority for servicemembers who meet certain criteria to be permitted to transferunused veterans education benefits to family members.
