Pandemic-related public health and travel restrictions were established on March 21, 2020, by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and CBP. Limited capacity in CBP holding facilities presents logistical and health safety challenges for migrant processing as CBP implements protocols to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
