That amount is less than the Presidents request and funding passed by theSenate, but greater than that recommended in the House funding bill. A numb
3、er ofNOAA programs were cut, but the National Weather Service and the NationalEnvironmental Satellite Data and Information Service received increased funding.Congress retained the National Sea Grant Program within NOAA instead of transferringit to the National Science Foundation (NSF), as proposed b
4、y the President. It alsofunded a number of NOAA programs under a separate “conservation category,” pursuantto Title VIII of the Interior Appropriations Act of 2001.
